After a break of more than two months, the DHL
Bangkok Lions Mini Rugby Union returns on Saturday for a
further six weeks during which time more than 100
children and parents will participate in the inaugural
BLMRU tour to Singapore where five age group teams have
been entered into matches.
The Lions have also been asked
to enter an under-14 boys team in the Rugby Challenge,
part of this year’s Champion Bangkok Rugby Sevens on
October 23-24 and which is being held a week ahead of
the main event.
Looking ahead to the next six
weeks, BLMRU Chairman Bruce Hill said: “Due to the
availability of the Bangkok Pattana Sports Complex, we
have been able to extend the season by a further six
weeks at no further charge to the children involved.
“For newcomers to
Thailand over the past
few months, an opportunity exists to register children
for this period and registration will be available this
coming Saturday from 8:15am.
“We would like to again extend
our thanks to major sponsors DHL, London Development
Company and Caledonia Asia for their continued support
and commitment in making the BLMRU a success.”
Children are asked to be at
Sports Complex opposite
Bangkok Patana School
in Soi LaSalle, Sukhumvit 105.
Ages 4-6 and 7-8 - training
starts at
9.00 am, but please be
at the ground by 8:45 am. This week’s matches are: Bangna
Harlequins v Krungthep Warriors; Bangkok Wasps v Siamese
Cats; Bangna Vagabonds v Krungthep Wanderers; Bangkok
Sharks v Siamese Crusaders.
Ages 9-10 and 11-12 - training
starts at
10.00 am, but please be
at the ground by 9:45 am. This week’s matches are:
Hurricanes v Typhoons; Barbarians v Aliens.
Ages 13-17 - training starts at
10:45 am,
but please be at the ground by 10:30 am and this week’s
match will involve the Eagles v the Falcons.
