2005 season and any child between 4 and 17 wishing to
register for 2005 may do so on either on 23rd

break which will take effect after coaching on 23rd
July and will recommence for five weeks from 3rd
September.
Announcing confirmation of 2005 plans,
DHL Bangkok Lions RFC Chairman Bruce
Hill said: “In comparison to 2004 we have even
more children registered this year and as last year we
are expecting substantial registration on the first two
weekends. We are currently anticipating over 250
children will have signed up by the end of April. The
season will comprise weekly structured coaching clinics
with the first fourteen weeks including both a
sevens and tens trophy day plus a one-day coaching
clinic with international rugby personalities, which is
currently finalised. The final five weeks will as last
season include a weekend tour to another Asian city with
several options currently being investigated plus a
final sevens and trophy day to close out the 2005
season.”
In conjunction with the announcement of the 2005 Lions
schedule, Hill also confirmed the 2005 sponsors “DHL
have confirmed naming sponsorship for a second year in
succession and we are grateful for their ongoing
support. Other major sponsors continuing their support
from 2004 are Caledonia Asia, Transpo Asian Tigers and
Land Rover plus we welcome Samitivej Hospitals for 2005
to provide weekly medical cover during our coaching
clinics and competition days. Negotiations are also
currently ongoing with other potential major sponsors
including Bangkok General Hospital and JST for the
coming season.
“Those children wishing to participate who have not yet
registered are encouraged to come along on weeks one and
two as further registration sessions will be held then.”
