The DHL Bangkok Lions Junior Rugby begin the highlight of their year today when they jet off to Singapore for their first overseas tour.

The Lions are sending four age-group teams to take on the Singapore Centaurus Rugby Club.

At last Saturday’s coaching clinic over 120 tour kits were handed out to the players and officials going on the trip, which is being sponsored by Land Rover, Chubb, Diethelm, the Old Bangkok Bangers, Food by Phone and DTC Travel.

For the children and coaches not going on the tour, it will be business as usual tomorrow at the Sports Complex at Bangkok Patana School.

The coaching sessions will be followed by matches, commencing with the 4 to 6 year olds and 7 to 8 year olds at 9 am. The 9 to 10 year olds and 11 to 12 year olds will start at 10 am and under 18s at 10:45 am.

The Bangkok Lions will continue until October 9 when there will be a sevens competition before the children go their separate ways. They will get back together again next April for a second season of rugby.
