Ashton Is Not Going To Represent England

Chris Ashton is no longer going to represent England rugby team at the Royal Bank of Scotland Six Nations 2014 because Stuart Lancaster (the coach of England rugby team) has decided to leave him out of the squad that is heading to Paris for a Six Nations 2014 match against France. Along with Ashton, Ben Youngs has also been omitted from the rugby team.

Youngs will be replaced by Danny Care and Ashton is going to be replaced by Jack Novell. Stuart Lancaster said that the team is very pleased with the current form of Chris Ashton. However, Novell has been progressing very well and has played exceptionally for Exeter during the big games because of which it was decided that Jack Novell will replace Chris Ashton. It was time to find another winger for the England rugby team, added Lancaster.

According to Stuart Lancaster, Chris Ashton will still remain to be a very important part of the England rugby squad and will work hard during this rugby season to regain the position that he has lost to Jack Novell.

During the August Internationals 2014, Chris Ashton was selected because players like Christian Wade and Marland Yarde had sustained injuries. Along with that, Ashton could not prove himself that effectively especially during the Autumn Internationals matches against New Zealand, Argentina and Australia. Thus, it was obvious that there was a high possibility of Ashton getting replaced.

Uncapped players such as Anthony Watson, George Ford and Luther Burrell are going to be a part of the 26 member rugby squad that Stuart Lancaster has created. Jack Novell, Luther Burrell and Jonny May are going to participate in the Six Nations tournament for the very first time.

But Stuart Lancaster will reduce the number of members from his squad to around twenty-three on 30th January, 2014.
